How safe is your smartphone and how private and secure is your data? If it’s lost or stolen, how easily could someone access your private information? What can you do to protect your smartphone?
Consumer Reports conducted a survey of privacy experts, wireless carriers, phone makers, government agencies, and white-hat hackers (the good guys who test the security of phones and apps) and 1,656 smart-phone users. They were asked about their experiences as part of a nationally representative survey, The 2013 Annual State of the Net Survey.
They found that a smart phone can be quite secure if a few basic precautions are taken. The following infographic summaries the findings. To read the entire article go to http://consumerreports.org/privacy0613
